Aside from web design, I can often be found doing a few other things:
- I write on my personal blog.
- I keep a growing selection of plants, which I am building into another web project.
- I browse the internet longingly, hoping one day to buy a Land Rover Series 3 and turn it into a camper – and then travel in it.
- I run a law blog that I hope to grow into a credible and useful resource for study.
- I walk in nature.
- I collect finely-bound books, and read them far more slowly than I buy them.
- I enjoy finding new bits of software to solve problems related to privacy and ownership – a philosophy I carry into True North, too.
- I write for a novel I one day want to publish.
- I’m an amateur photographer, and love it when you get that feeling of “this shot is perfect”.
Why did I make True North?
Part of it is certainly that I enjoy this work, but part of it is because I want to offer a meaningful alternative to services that I regard as predatory or poor quality. Web design is a field a lot of people don’t seem to trust, and there are too many tech bros and charlatans in this line of work.
People deserve something honest and trustworthy, and I wanted to be that.
