Will I need to do anything?
Yes, there will be some things I’ll need from you! Unless you want me to use stock images (which I generally advise against, as they can feel inauthentic), I’ll need any photos or images you’d like to include on your site. If you already have any written content (text, descriptions, etc.), I can incorporate that too.
The level of your involvement will vary depending on how much control you want over the process. Some clients prefer to be more hands-on, while others are happy to leave it all to me.
Do you offer payment plans?
Why should I not use tools like Wix, Squarespace, etc?
Website builders such as Wix and Squarespace can be a useful starting point for those on a tight budget, but they come with significant limitations. I talk about them, and AI builders, here.
How long does it take to launch a website?
Most bespoke websites take 1-2 months depending on scope and content readiness. I’ll give a more tailored estimate when I know your requirements better. Package sites can be online in days if everything is ready beforehand.
What sort of clients do you work with?
I’m happy to work with anyone who needs my services so don’t be put off if you’re not represented in my portfolio yet. I’ll very probably enjoy the challenge, and change of scenery.
What I really seek alignment on is values. If you value human-scale enterprise, and care about honesty, technical resilience, aesthetic taste, and are not enamoured by hyper-corporate, tech-bro, or sycophantic business, then we are of a mind and I hope will work very well together!

I have something made with AI - will you take it?
It will depend. I’m not going to just take an AI-coded website and launch it live, no. This would be a disservice to you: it may not be secure, it may have poor SEO, it may not be responsive, and so on.
If you have a design concept you like I will happily take a look at that and see what I can do.
The line for me is in the site architecture: AI can make something that looks nice but it often doesn’t function well without extra work. What it’s unlikely to think about is how you, and your visitors will use your site. Nor how you might grow and wish to expand it, for example with a custom type of post for, say, a portfolio or case study, etc. If you asked AI to make a pretty landing page and that was it, there will be no architecture in place for this.
True North takes a more long-term approach to websites, which I hope re-affirms the value of sentience and human intelligence over the expedience of AI.
